Hello, this is Doctor Kirshenbaum. This is the Killer rats talk version 2021.
First of all, the definition.
Of a killer app is a feature function or application of a new Technology or product that is presented as virtually indispensable or much superior to rival products. The nature of this talk is related to Productivity apps and not medical apps or specifically orthopedic apps. These are apps that are for your phone or for your.
Tablet or for your computer that add to your Productivity and simply just make life better.
First app is Adobe Acrobat Pro. This is an amazing PDF management program. It allows you to convert to Other formats, edit, sign, share, and organize PDF documents. You used to think that PDF documents were not editable, but you can edit PDF documents with Adobe Acrobat Pro. It is a worthwhile investment over the free version called Acrobat Reader.
There is even a browser extension that lets you turn any web page into a PDF. This is quite remarkable.
And here is an example of using it. This is a PDF document which you are looking at we're gonna hit edit PDF and right off the bat we could change some of the text on the PDF.
Which in macrobat reader, you cannot normally do.
And that is one feature you close that, then another feature you can do.
Is to fill and sign, which is quite good, you could add.
Uh, a text area right onto your PDF and type something you would like to there call the author.
You can go down in the document further down and you can put in your signature.
So you could sign and.
Your signature from a previous file, you could also reorganize pages. You can put one page in front of another and move them around quite easily in Acrobat Pro.
The next application is amphetamine. This is an app that allows you to set the exact amount of time.
For which you want your computer to go to sleep mode, this prevents your computer from going into sleep mode until you want it to, you know how frustrating it is sometimes you're working on a project, you turn away from your computer, it goes into sleep mode, you have to hit the password. This allows you to have complete control over sleep mode, so it will go into sleep mode when you want to.
Here's an example of how it works, you click on it from the top menu bar. You can click on minutes, indefinitely, hours, uh, another time you want.
While an app is running, when you close the app, it'll go into sleep mode while a file is downloading, you can set the hours. I've set it for 3 hours here, and if I look, it tells you how much time is remaining in my session here, which is quite good. All right, so this really allows you complete control so that it goes to sleep, uh, at a time that you set it for.
Better snap tool is.
An app that allows you to control the size of all the different applications and then all the application Windows on your desktop. It allows you to automatically resize Winds on your desktop for management of multitasking. You can use a quarter screen, 1 screen, top, bottom, an array of drag and drop sizes.
So if we were going to look at this, you can see my screen has a couple of Windows that are sometimes hard to manage.
And what we're going to do with the better snap tool, once it's activated, you literally pull it to the side and it resizes it perfectly without you having to spend time sizing it how you want. You can change Other things into a quarter size, you could move a variety of things.
Uh, to a quarter size on the bottom, and all these things allow you to keep control of the view of your desktop.
Bentley
Is an uh an app that gives you the ability to rename.
A URL or web address, it allows you to take a very long web address that you want to send to somebody and shorten shorten it and even customize it. So if we were to look at this example, you can see we will.
Click on.
A URL, look how long that URL looks.
And if we hit Bentley.
It'll shorten it
Into a tiny link right there.
And
We can copy that link.
And then you'll see that's what the link looks like that entire long URL is shortened to a tiny URL and brings you right to the web page you want, so you can share these without having long URLs.
Berna is a remarkable app that allows you to have a second phone line on your smartphone without dealing with any.
Internet service provider or without dealing with any phone company you get an actual number that is a virtual number on your smartphone. It's relatively inexpensive, has no long term contracts, and some plans start at $5 a month. You are not going through anything but.
Your.
Um, regular uh minutes on your phone, which most people have unlimited or voice over Internet.
So.
In this example you can see on my phone there is the burner app and there's a phone number they gave me up top. I have separate contacts, reminders, global settings. I could have a subscription service all this is done as an app and is not a separate phone line you could cancel it at any time. It is a separate phone and when you call people they see.
Your number, not your original number. They see your burner phone number. So this allows you to have a second phone line without any problems at all, and it's a great opportunity to do this.
Calendly is an application that allows Other people to make set appointments on your calendar and even set up Zoom meetings with a link to a web application.
You can stop struggling with people making appointments with you with Calendarly, you can set appointments on your own unique landing page, and people can make appointments in those reserved slots. It syncs automatically with your calendar and their calendar, and you can even connect it to conferencing apps like GoToMeeting and Zoom and automatically set up a meeting.
So when somebody gets the link, they go right to your landing page. So we can see here.
That these are the apps OK I have one on one I have dinner when we do the one on one I can set up that it's going to be a Zoom meeting or a phone call or an in person meeting. I have many options to set it up.
And I could set the timing, I can set the duration. I can set what days of the week and what time for each shows things, so if I view the booking page, this is what the person sees.
And they click a time, one o'clock.
They click on that, they confirm it.
And as soon as they confirm it.
You could share something, you schedule the event.
And invitations were sent to email addresses and they were saved automatically on your calendar, whatever calendar you use, whether it's Outlook, Ial or Google Calendar.
Taper call is a method.
To record incoming and outgoing calls on the fly. This really is a game changer. Either you can make a call.
Uh, and then before you start, you can start recording or you receive a call, you can start the app and the call is recorded. In most states electronic one party recording is legal. You need to check your state laws according to most recent.
Research, the following states have adopted some version of two party consent, and you can see that here.
This is how it works.
On your phone, you would.
hit tape a call.
OK.
And you would start a recording.
And you start it by a calls a number.
And then what you do, you add the call.
And you call a person.
Specifically, you're gonna call somebody.
And you'll, I'll call a number here.
And you'll call them.
And you'll merge the calls.
And now you're taping a call.
By merging it with a recording function.
And it allows you to tape the entire call, keep it, record it, send it, save it, and do anything you want with your recording that is now available to you.
Every once in a while you're gonna need a scanner, and you can use your smartphone as a scanner with cam scanner. You can scan a page of text and aside from copying this, you could do optical character recognition.
So if I was going to do this.
Cam scanner is a very powerful and useful smartphone scanner. You can scan a page of text and aside from copying this, you can do optical character recognition. This is all using your smartphone without having to use a desktop scanner.
So you'll see here this is uh some recent docs. I'll take a picture of a page using this cam scanner app. Soon as I take that picture, I could, I have it there, it scans it and it can turn it into a PDF.
Right? And it could even read the words there it is. It's an image you could turn it into a word file.
And once you've saved that.
It converted it and you can export it as a word file.
Which is a very powerful feature.
You can share this as a PDF, you can share it as a word. You could uh send it to whoever you wanna send it to. You can edit the PDF. Uh you can share it as an image. Uh, you can send it to someone here I'm emailing it directly to myself.
And
I can pick the size I want and that's how cam scanner is so easy to use.
Daicom readers are important.
Dicom is the extension for radiology images that are readable and legal to read in that format. Sometimes you will get a CD from an imaging location that you can't open up there.
Uh, their, uh, CD, but you can use a Dcom reader to scrape off the images from the disc, and you can save all those images on your computer. There's a number of Dicom readers out there. Um, there's micro Dicom, Oceris, Post Icom, radiant, uh, Oos is one of my favorites. You take the actual images from you receive from the patient, you can save them.
And keep them on your computer so you don't always have to keep on putting the DVD or CD-ROM in your computer, so this is an example of OOS and we'll show you that we're going to import the images.
The images are in it from a CD uh DVD. The dotcom images I'm gonna copy right into the Oos database.
It's copying an image and there is the CD right there.
OK, and you can see.
That you can use it just like any Other reader.
That you get from the imaging companies.
Doximity Caller is an app that's free, uh, from the Social Media site called Doximity. It allows you to change your caller ID when you call someone, so you can call a patient from your own phone and you don't have to block your phone. You could put the caller ID as the hospital or your office, even though it's your phone.
So the way this works is I'm gonna bring up the Doximity app.
I dial a number and you can see on top, I have different caller IDs, I could add the hospital number.
As a caller ID that the that the person on the Other end will see.
So I have an office number, I have a hospital number and when I call someone from this, those numbers up top are what the person you're calling is going to see.
So it's a great way of hiding your caller ID.
Encrypto is a nice small app. It's a simple app where you can encrypt any file with a unique password and send that file to someone. You get them a password separately through a separate email for them to unlock the file. Uh, this is a a very powerful free app and you can share encrypted files that you don't want Other people to read unless they have the password to encrypt it.
I will demonstrate this, you'll grab this file into the encrypto app.
You'll you'll put a password.
Then you'll encrypt it.
Soon as you encrypt it, it becomes an encrypted file.
You can save it.
In any way you want, cryptophile 2.
And there it is.
On the left, you can see this is encrypto file 2. crypto. You need the password to open it up, you can even encrypt encrypt files on your own.
Computer and use it instead of sending just encrypt files that you don't want Other people to see. Uh, it's uh cuz a lot of apps do not have passwords or password protection, so you could just encrypt files as much as you'd like.
Expensify is a very powerful smartphone app that connects to a cloud-based application supported by the company that allows you to scan, read, and organize all your expenses when you travel, export them in Excel, connect to a variety of Other programs, and this is what it looks like.
Uh, once you have saved these on your smartphone, you capture them and they come up on your dashboard on the web.
So you can see that this is, these are a number of expenses that were scanned with the smartphone, the program reads the image and actually knows how much you spend, so you don't have to manually put everything in, it scans the entire receipt and knows how much you paid based on optical character recognition, you could also.
Uh, produce reports that you could submit for expenses and Reimbursement. Expensify very good application.
File converters are often very important. Sometimes you want to convert a PDF to an image such as a JPG, sometimes you wanna.
Change one type of video format into another video format, so Wondershare unit converter, or there are quite a number of free PDF JPEG converters out there, but Wondershare is sort of the granddaddy of these. If I was to look at one share uni converter, you see on the left hand side there's video converters, audio.
Converters, downloaders, you can actually download something from an Internet source, uh, and, uh, scrape it from the Internet source that's coming from, such as YouTube. You could compress video, you can edit it. Let's take a look at this. You'll see that we are going to take, uh, you could take an MP4, turn it into a dot move, you could turn it into an Apple M4V.
Um, you can change wave files into MP3 files into M4A Apple files, you could convert these to many different types of formats. This is the downloader, you could download videos right from YouTube and c and capture them on your computer, so all you do is paste, copy and paste the URL from YouTube, OK, and.
You're going to put that in there and then it will download that video and you now own that video on your computer, so Wondershare unit converter, uh not only converts but also allows you to download uh audio video applications and use them.
Flipboard is a news aggregator, there are quite a number of news aggregators, Flipboard has a bit of a flair to it, it's very nice to see you could control where the video with the news aggregation comes from. It has an entertaining interface with quite a bit of news posted.
So this is mainly a smartphone app and you can see how it looks here, you scroll through, um, this is a daily edition of today's picks, but you can choose many topics. There's thousands of topics and subtopics that you can use, fantasy football, um.
Various uh um sports applications, um, you can have political healthcare and you just basically choose the categories that you want. Um, and you can go into any and all of these categories and find current news concerning this from multiple.
News sources.
Grammarly is an application that attaches onto your web browser and it works with any web page you're typing on and corrects your grammar. A free version is actually phenomenal. The non-free version allows you to add to your dictionary, but I suggest just using the free version. So I will show you and, and I'll type something incorrectly here purposely, and you'll see what happens with Grammarly, which is working in the corner as a web.
Browser extension. I, as soon as I typed the word patient wrong, you'll see the patient was seen closely on the.
Clinic and I wanted to say in the clinic, so one was a grammar error and one was a spelling error, so you can say I could change patient immediately and it'll know in and right on the web page you have correction of your grammar.
Hoot sweet
Is an app that allows you to put on multiple posts on multiple Social Media accounts and time their release so you can put up 6 different LinkedIn posts and set it up to go every day in a week without having to be there when you're posting it at that time.
So here is what Hootsuite looks like. I have LinkedIn on here, my LinkedIn posts, and I could schedule posts to go at a particular time.
So you can see I'm gonna start scheduling.
And there's updates of of my of my posts. I start scheduling, I post to.
My LinkedIn account, personal LinkedIn account and my journal account.
I'm gonna post to 2 places. I'm gonna put the text in that I want to post.
And I could even add.
Of a variety of things and add an image, there's the post.
Schedule for later. I could schedule for any date and time.
Uh, of the day.
And it could be a regular post, it could be different posts, it could be intermittent posts, but this allows you to set up all your posts for a week and on Social Media, so you don't always, you're not always gonna be there at 3 o'clock in the afternoon when you want a post to hit.
So this allows you to control a lot of your posts.
I annotate is a PDF reader for tablets, but allows you to edit and annotate.
A PDF on your Tablet or on your smartphone. So if I was to look at this, I would see that I could put words like interesting circle things, highlight things on a PDF on my um.
My uh iPad on my um Microsoft Surface on any Tablet or even a smartphone that's reading a PDF you can annotate PDF files.
I expand Drive is actually a piece of hardware. Sand disc makes it, uh, it attaches to your smartphone and automatically backs up your photos and media to a USB port. You can choose to delete the media from your phone to transfer it or not, and this prevents you having to have to connect your phone and back it up onto your computer. You could actually back it up directly onto the.
I expand flash drive and you can keep backup separately and external from your computer, which is a great advantage when you wanna backup material from your smartphone.
Casa is a smartphone app that connects to what are called Casa switches and outlets to control anything in your house remotely from your phone, so you can put in the smart switches and.
Into outlets or into light switches and you can control them not only from your Wi Fi but even remotely when you're away from your home, very simple and very expensive and if you would, you can look, here's the app on my phone and it's controlling a number of things in my house, um, Sono speakers, um, a, uh.
Cabin, uh, the coffee, fans, heaters, um, an air filter, uh, overhead light with smart switches, and you can control them anywhere and it's quite a powerful feature.
Keyringing is a simple app that allows you to keep all your loyalty cards on a single app. You no longer have to carry around those annoying loyalty cards or key ring plastics, just scan in a barcode and it is on file in this app. A vast majority of stores can scan from from your phone. Here is the app itself.
Key ring comes up here are all my loyalty cards. Um, at one of the stores, I click on one of them, CVS, up comes.
My, um.
My um barcode, it even has an image of where I originally scanned it from. Uh, I could select a store, there are many stores that are already in here. Uh, and this is a way to debride your key ring as well as your wallet.
Macpaul Hider is another encrypted app where you can encrypt an entire folder onto your computer and it disappears from site. And no one knows that folder is even on your computer.
So
Here is the Mac hider 2. You put in your password. Here are the files that I may want to encrypt. You drag in files or folders in. As soon as you drag it in.
It disappears from your finder or your file manager in in a PC or an app. You can make it visible, you can make it non-visible, but once it's encrypted.
Once I make it visible, you'll see a pop up on the left again, so there's a way to encrypt an entire folder or to encrypt individual files on your computer and when they're encrypted, they're hidden from view. There isn't even an extension like encrypto.
Monosnap is an app that lives on your menu and allows you to capture or record any part of your computer screen and then edit it, save it, copy and paste it.
So on this particular screen, I am going to use the app. I'll capture an area or capture a full screen or record a video, but I'll just capture an area. I'll capture just that.
Area right here, these images. Soon as I capture it, it goes into the app.
Of monnosnap. I could actually edit it and add some images or I could just save the clip. And I could paste the clip anywhere I want, and there it is, I just put that clip into a PowerPoint.
Um show. And it's an easy way to clip any part of your screen.
Multic-copy and paste is a browser extension that allows you to copy as many as 3 different.
Sets of words and paste them.
However you want, normally when you hit control C or or Apple C command C, you can only copy one thing in your clipboard. This is a clipboard that has 3 positions for copy and paste, and you'll see here, here are 3 sentences, the first sentence, the second sentence, and now a third sentence.
I'm gonna.
Basically.
Copy this first sentence and I right click and you see it says copy and paste. It's in the copy one.
Second sentence.
It goes to copy 2. Now I have 2 separate places that I have things copied.
And now I have copy 3, it's in copy 3.
So then when I'm done.
You'll see that I could now paste them in any order I want. I could paste 3 right there because I have 3 separate things in the clipboard, so it's a triple clipboard for your use, which allows you to save a lot of time in copying and pasting multiple things on a on a web document. This is only on a web browser and it's not for Microsoft Word or any Other program like that.
Multi-timer is a timer app where you can time multiple events at once. It's great when you're doing time motion studies in the operating room or Other places, but it also can be used, uh, personally when you're timing uh track running track runners, and each one it starts at the same time, it ends differently, so it's a multi-timer app. I'll show you how this works.
Up it comes, we will start multi timer and I have.
Uh, 9, 1011 apps here. I could start one app there.
That that timer is starting, then another event starts.
I'm timing that separately.
And a 3rd event starts. I'm timing that as well, and you could just continue this and just keep on adding you can pause one, you can stop another, start another. This allows you to have multiple stopwatches going at the same time on your screen.
Orthopedic scores is one of my only orthopedic apps. This is a site that has a ton of value based scoring systems, such as Who's Kosh and others. The site allows you to calculate the actual numbers. So, it's truly a labor of love for the web originators of the site and kudos to them.
Here is the site, orthopedic score.com.
And you can see that it has quite a number of scoring systems here which are um well known in in the world. This is the coose and you can click on it and as you get to the bottom, you you can see the score in the bottom right, it calculates the score.
Um, you don't save it in a database, um, but you can certainly have a patient or yourself do this, get the score, and.
Um, print the page or just make note of the score. So it's a great way to get outcome scoring for free.
Pandaoc is a version of a secure document management cloud-based service. You can upload any documents, develop templates, and assign people to fill out different signs or fill out or sign different sections of the app. So this is the dashboard for Pantheroc. It's very similar to DocuSign, has a couple of Other powerful features. DocuSign is also a very good app to use.
Um, and you'll see that what we're gonna do here is we're going to see documents that we've had, we've sent, we've reviewed, we've completed, we're going to create a, uh, a new document.
Here from a previous agreement and you could assign various people and their emails and when they sign it, they click on it, they put this signature in.
You can draw your signature.
They could type their signature or they could upload their signature.
You accept and sign, and there it is, they put the date in, they finish.
And now the document.
Has been saved.
And when you look at the document that's saved.
You can see that all the people signed the document, so multiple people could sign it and if you save it as a PDF it even comes with a signature certificate proof that these were the people who actually signed the document so this and DocuSign are very powerful tools.
Parallels is actually an application that allows Mac users to simply swipe their screen and start working in a full Windows environment. So if you are are a Mac user and your hospital is more of a PC version and you need to get in remotely with the PC and it's not able to be in a Mac or there are programs in one or the Other that you wanna use instead of buying a separate Tablet for.
Windows and a separate Tablet for a Mac, you can simply buy a Mac and for $99 a year, you basically have both machines at once. So here is a version here and this is actually my screen on my Mac and you're gonna see I'm going to go over into parallels.
And as soon as I go into parallels.
It's going to open up.
A Windows screen, I'll just swipe it over and now I'm working in Windows on my Mac and it's a full Windows version. I could bring up a Windows software that I like to use called Sound Forge, and I am working in a Windows environment here.
Uh, Soundforge does not come for the Mac, and now I'm back in my Mac and I swipe back and forth and I'm in two operating systems.
Pocket is a Chrome extension. It allows you to bookmark any page you're viewing in a graphical way, so you could return to those pages and you could even organize them in a catalog and see what what said about them. So here I'm on a page on on ESPN.
OK, and I may wanna capture this story. So I click on one of the um.
One of the stories here.
OK.
And there it goes. And then I'll click on the pocket app when I'm ready here.
They're safe to pocket.
Uh, it says page saved to pocket.
And I'll open my list.
And there's that page.
This is a way to sort of bookmark.
Things in a graphical manner and control how all your different lists and all your different types of web pages that you'd like to look at.
Racketin, which used to be called Ebates, uh, is a very common app. Many people have seen it. Once you install it on your computer, any site that supports discounts with Racketin will automatically get you discounts. This actually works. You get rebate checks in the mail periodically, which are quite a pleasant surprise. So I'll go to a website.
And all of a sudden, if that website works with Racketin, Racketin comes up. So anytime I purchase, I'll get 2% back. Click on that.
It says your 2% is on the way, once you make a.
Uh, sale, you're there, you could also see different stores have all kinds of deals with Racketin, so you can shop literally through Racketin and get even more off on your shopping.
Read QX Read uh is one of my only Other medical apps. It's a personalized medical and scientific journal reader. This is a surprisingly knockout product. You get summaries, the abstracts of all the journals and our journal topics you determine in your settings. There's just a quick way to keep up with the literature.
And this is all on a smartphone and this is my feed. My feed has mainly of course orthopedic journals. These are the journals that I'm getting the abstracts on on a regular basis and I can flip through those journals without having to go to each of the websites. It's just scraping all the abstracts from these journals.
OK, and you, if you have institutional access to these, you could add library access to your application for the full text if you want to read the full text.
So I can go back and here's various uh journals as I said you can make collections of articles. I didn't in this particular setting, um, I have Knee Knee abstracts from a variety of different sources so not only do you sort by journal, but you can sort by keywords and here are the keywords that I looked at. It's a great way to keep up with your.
Um,
Topics of of of of interest, there's no question this is particularly solid application.
Reflector 4 is an app that allows you to display your smartphone on your computer screen to demonstrate how you do things.
So when you start reflector 4, it will send a code to your phone to connect your phone to the screen on your computer.
So once I put in the.
Number on my phone and hit screen mirroring.
It'll now display my phone. So this is my actual phone being displayed on the computer.
And you can demonstrate to people various applications online.
Uh, that you wouldn't normally to be able to show your smartphone to an entire audience if you wanted to demonstrate something that's on your phone.
Show my desktop.
Simple little app. It installs on your menu bar and by clicking on it, it hides all screens that are open immediately. Two good uses if your boss walks by, that's one. The Other one is you have so many Windows open and you want to minimize all of them in one keystroke. Let me show you how that works. I have a number of apps up right now.
And I'm gonna go to the top to that little arrow, and as soon as I click it, all the Windows disappear and go away. I click it, all the Windows come right back up. So show my desktop is a way to disappear your entire desktop.
And then bring it all back to how you had it.
Sugar sink, there are many computer backup applications. This is just one. It's a surefire way for you to stay backed up on your computer. You set which files or folders you want backed up and automatically in the background sugar sink works to keep you backed up. I'll show you that here.
You, I'll click on my Sugar sync app, you can see it's syncing account changes, you could launch the website, you could open a file transfers view, uh, it's a very powerful app. This is actually showing all the folders.
That I have backed up from this computer and even older computers, so you can actually when you change computers, keep the files from your old computers on sugar sync, which is a very powerful way to back up your computer.
TaskRabbit is a simple app if you have a project at home, this app.
You can find contractors or people who will assemble or clean anything you want. If you have a task, you will find someone to do it with TaskRabbit. So I go on to TaskRabbit, hit welcome back. I've been on this before. I can look for people you write what you need help with or you click an area that you want to, to that you have want help with.
So I will hit minor home repairs, I click my home.
I hit continue.
It finds people who do tasks and it lets you know their hourly rate, lets you know information about them, and you can do a variety of tasks. They give you reviews of the different taskers and you could even chat with the tasker, um, you can schedule tasks around your house and it's a great way.
To keep in touch with a lot of uh handyper people and a variety of people who can do work around the house for you.
Scores Mobile is an amazing sports app. It's a dedicated app to find out sports scores, standing, sports news in nearly every national and international sport. It also has, uh, the, uh, sports news, but the score feature is truly amazing.
Um, when I click on ScoreMobile, I'm looking at some news here. This is news related to sports in general, so it gives you your feed, but here are the schedule for the day, week 1, week 2 in football. You can choose which league you want around the world. You even have Formula One racing. You can find out a game, you can look at the matchup of a game, you can look at the stats, you can look at.
This is all happening during the game. You can look at the drives in football or or in basketball, who had the ball at any given time, uh, so it works both live as well as legacy.
There are video channels online. This is a way for you to store your own videos on your own channels. One is Vimeo and one is YouTube. YouTube, you can have your own channel, save your own videos there. People can subscribe to your channel, and it's a place where you can catalog your own video and give custom links to get to your videos. Vimeo is a paid service with a few more features and privacy. I will show you here YouTube.
Version.
So this is um going to be my channel here, OK? I look at my channel and here are the videos that are on my channel, no surprise, mainly surgical videos. If I look at all my videos, here are all the surgical videos that we decided to put onto this channel and I could link people to these videos or embed these videos onto a website.
So people can view these videos directly, uh, you could customize your channel, you can drag and drop image, uh, videos directly into ad. It's very intuitive to use, um, this is our journal, um, site, here comes the video that you're looking at.
You can share this link, you can copy the link to this video, you can post it anywhere, and so having your own channel on YouTube or Vimeo is very enjoyable for people who wanna share information.
Avino, may be the best wine app out there, takes a picture of the label, finds the wine, tells you about the wine. Well, even though there are a lot of wine apps, this is a particularly powerful one. So I will go onto Vivino. First, there's some advertising which you don't, which you certainly would expect. I'm gonna take a picture of a wine that's sitting there.
OK, boom, I take a picture of it.
Then I say I wanna use that picture.
It analyzes it in a couple of seconds. It says voila.
And it found it was dollar reserve cabernet. That's what it was. It gives you the rating, how much it usually costs, it even gives you ways that you can buy it through them.
Uh, buy it somewhere else, uh, gives you a sense of how good this wine is with ratings, and then you save it in your library, so when you go to a restaurant, you can take pictures and save them in your Vivino app for later because everyone always says, oh, I wanna try this wine later, but they forget the wine, so Vivino, excellent app.
Voice memos, simple. It make any voice memos on your smartphones, you're at a meeting and everyone gives permission for recording. You could simply record memos and you can share them or save them. This comes up, you hit the red button, pretty intuitive. It starts recording, uh, and you can record for any, uh, period of time.
You can, uh, once you do that, you stop the recorder. The recording was saved successfully. Here are all the recordings you can take it.
You can listen back to it.
And you could even, um save it and send it to Other people.
Traffic app Waze is the granddaddy. Uh, if you're not using this app, then you're probably still in traffic. That's all I'm gonna say. Here's a typical example of Waze. Um, I'm saying we're gonna go home with the Waze app, it calculates the route, uh, that was, uh, um, from all the way from San Diego to New York.
Uh, a lot of police along the route, but it'll give you where the police are, where the red light cameras are, uh, where it will reroute you when traffic piles up, very powerful app.
Wonder List, if you're a big fan of this, this has been changed recently to Microsoft to do, they purchased Wonder List. It's a great list making tool for smartphones and tablets. So here is the Microsoft to do.
Which is one the list, you add a task.
And I'll go to the instructional course lecture.
Um, I could put it on my day, I could have various lists of lists, categories of lists of Research.
Uh, subcategory, various folders. So if you are a list person, I will tell you that Microsoft to do or what was previously won the list is a great list maker.
Email
Is an app that does cost a small amount of money, but it transcribes your voice messages, no reason ever to listen to voice messages again. It takes it catalogs them and you can save the voice messages and even share them and you share the text. There's no similar apps that do it better than you email, so I'm gonna click on my email.
And you'll see who left me messages. They're all.
Um
Text um that have been transcribed, you could actually listen to the voice message if you can't understand some of the transcription, but allows you to read all your voice messages that you received. And that is a final uh.
Um,
App that we have for this year in Killer Apps 2021, uh, keep, uh, a tab on this channel, um, because we will update apps as we go on, um, as 2022 goes on, and when the academy comes in 2022, there'll be a complete new version, but we'll keep on updating every time we get a new app. Thank you.
