Betty is a nationally recognized health care consultant, author, and speaker. She is an expert auditor and loves to help practices stay compliant and profitable.  Betty is the owner of Compliant Health Care Solutions (CHCS).

Betty brings over thirty-five years of healthcare experience with her. She has educated coders, managers, health plans, administrators, physicians and non-physician practitioners all across the country. Betty has co-written manuals on ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT specialty areas.  She audits practices and provides physician/APP and staff education that is always well received.  Her company also provides services like physician/APP shadowing, creating compliance programs, and audit defense for payor audits.  Betty has also created the E/M Coding Tool and Pocket Tool, handy references for physicians, APPs, Coders, Auditors, and anyone that wants a reference tool for E/M without having to lug around a CPT book.  She has also co-created E/M digital eTools which can be found on the CHCS website.

 Betty has a BS in Healthcare Administration and Management from Colorado State and holds multiple certifications through AHIMA and AAPC.  She is a past member and officer on the AAPC National Advisory Board.  She is currently on the BC Advantage Editorial Board.  Betty just finished the last year of her term on the AHIMA Council for Excellence in Education.  She also holds a LinkedIn Live broadcast, Health Care Happenings, where she discusses various health care topics including E/M, modifiers, HCCs, and auditing which streams live on LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube.  Betty co-hosts Compliance Capers with Sonal Patel, a LinkedIn Live broadcast where they discuss different compliance topics and offer advice on keeping a practice compliant.  The sessions can be seen on LinkedIn, Facebook, and the CHCS YouTube channel and run on Fridays at 10:00 am CST.
