Most industries determine success by customer/consumer satisfaction. This is where healthcare differs. To change the current narrative of the health system we must measure our patient’s outcomes at the level of the patient across the entire episode of care. Patient-reported outcomes should be defined as the measures that matter most to the patient. As an industry, we must rely on relevant outcome measures and move away from constraining quality and reimbursement to process measures. This group is intended to generate ideas and cultivate a language for measuring what is important to the patient by returning to what we all do best, improving patients’ health.
