Title

Manager- Strategy and Business Development, ECRI

Biography

I worked clinically in various care settings including ER, ENT, Cosmetics, Plastics and helped with our Ambulatory Surgical Center.  I was responsible for everything from supply ordering, process and flow, clinical studies, inpatient consults and rounds, pre-op, peri-op, and post-op care as well as laser cosmetic care.  I ended my clinical career in occupational health and learned a lot about gaps in healthcare through all of this.   As such, I decided to look for a wider positive reach and spent the better part of 3 years at Merck working on vaccine, antimicrobial, and biologic safety.  I transitioned to ECRI about 4 years ago, with my primary role being focused on medical device and supply safety and comparison.  Currently, I’m focused on corporate strategy and business development.   I continue to stay active from an academic clinical aspect and am always looking for ways to share my knowledge and connections through collaboration.

Additional Information

A bit about ECRI:  ECRI is 51 year old nonprofit focused on advancing safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness of care across all settings.  Safety spans from clinical guidelines, clinical guidance, patient safety, staff safety, device safety, and medication safety.  We have an on-site lab with highly experienced engineers and clinical staff who work together in testing equipment ranging from sutures, to anesthesia machines, and anything in between.  We work closely with hospitals and health systems, payers, providers, and have many government agency collaborations and contracts including FDA, AHRQ, PCORI, VADOD, and WHO.  We’ve acquired the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) over the last year and have really enjoyed growing with them.  ECRI has been pivotal and instrumental for many in light of COVID in providing sound guidance and direction during these challenging times, including growing and expanding our Infection Prevention program with additional certified infection preventionists.  If you have any questions about ECRI, please reach out and I’m happy to connect.  I’m looking forward to contributing and sharing the vast ECRI knowledge and content with everyone moving forward.
