Medical Device Success
The Medical Device Success Podcast and Videocast is a combination of interviews with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and MedTech leaders along with some solo podcasts aimed at improving the ability of the audience to better understand and compete in today’s rapidly changing healthcare ecosystem. We seek out SMEs in areas that can assist MedTech companies in:
• Marketing strategies, tactics and technologies
• Sales strategies, tactics and technologies
• The future of MedTech – technology trends and implementation
• Health research & economics
• Provider issues (hospital systems, ambulatory surgical care, etc.)
In our “In the C-Suite” series we like to get leadership perspectives from MedTech leaders.
Episode 22 – Welcome to the MedTech Leaders Community
The purpose of the MedTech Leaders community is to bring together medtech leaders and those aspiring to be leaders to:
understand and achieve best practicesshare resources and expertisegive each other feedbackcelebrate successesset the stage to become recognized leaders in your organization and industrycreate a foundation for positions of greater responsibilitymeet people from around the world for new perspectivesall this with no spam, no judgement, no politics
In this podcast and video cast, I take you on a tour of the community to help you better understand its value. For a couple months, when posting podcast episodes, I have been talking about the creation of a robust on-line community for medtech professionals. I found 20 medtech leaders to participate in the beta community to help me set it up. This has been fun and informative. Today, I open the doors for the first wave of prospective members. Let me be up front, it is a paid community. However, there is a 30-day free trial that gives you the opportunity to exit at no cost if you feel there is no value for you.
Of course, we want to have some fun too. See you there!

NOTE! The doors to the community are open only a few days at a time. This is so we can onboard new members properly and understand how to get the most out of the community. Once we feel new members a familiar with how everty thing works, we open the doors again. Probably once a week or two.

Episode 21 Part 3 of 3 – Virtual Trade Shows and Alternatives – What the Doctors Say
What do doctors think of this virtual world of events and contacts? In this podcast and video cast, Lisa Bichsel, Lauren Dustman and I interview a multi-specialty panel of 5 doctors to hear what they have to say. We talk to an ophthalmologist, a radiologist, an emergency medicine physician, a gastroenterologist and a family practitioner. There are some very good pearls of wisdom in this discussion.
BTW, the medical technology leader’s community that I have been finishing with the help of beta participants has really come together. We will open the doors to this community next weekend.

How does a life sciences company succeed in a world of virtual congresses and tradeshows? We address this problem in a 3-part series of podcasts/video casts. Once again, I teamed up with Lisa Bichsel and the Bichsel Medical Marketing Group to create and produce this series. The BMMG team are all pros!
In this first part:
We show examples of virtual shows and how they work. We rank the virtual show platforms. We cover best practices. We review Pros and Cons of virtual exhibiting. We talk about the challenges facing small and medium sized companies. And, we discuss the cost issues. Some societies are charging crazy virtual exhibiting fees. Finally, we look at future trade show models.
Part 1 – A Guide to Medical Marketers (Sales management should pay attention too!)
Part 2 – We interview leaders in the Healthcare Exhibiting and Event Ecosystem to get their view of the dynamics of virtual congresses.

One is Medical Sales Nation hosted by Jim Surek, a VP of Sales in a surgically related company. The other is Medical Device Made Easy hosted by Monir El Azzouzi a QA and Regulatory expert. Someday, I will interview these guys for my podcast. Next, we talk about journaling as a way to reflect, reduce stress, be accountable and solve problems in these challenging times.
